MESt Faculty Scholarship

The MESt Faculty Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement, as well as evidence of special ecumenical interest, as documented in the application pack.

Admission to the MESt program by no means guarantees that the applicant will be offered a Faculty Scholarship.

NB: Students wishing to apply for the MESt Faculty Scholarship must submit their applications along with their application for admission until April 30th.

Alternative Scholarship Options

The Gustav-Adolf-Werk der Ev. Kirche im Rheinland offers scholarships for students of theology who belong to one of its partner churches.
More information, and the complete list of partner churches can be found here. Applications must be submitted through the MESt Coordinator, please send your inquiries to mest@zerg.uni-bonn.de.

The "Deutsches Nationalkomitee Lutherischer Weltbund" offers scholarships for students of theology who are no more than 35 years old and belong to a church which is part of the Lutheran World Federation.

There are scholarships available through “Brot für die Welt” for students of theology. Information (German only) and contact details.

The Church Development Service (Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst - EED) offers scholarships for students from Developing Countries.
Applications must be submitted on the candidate's behalf by his or her local church, a national denominational board, an NGO, a church-related university, or another para-church or para-state organisation.
Applications must be submitted through the Evangelische Studierendengemeinde (ESG) or a regional co-curricular programme (STUBE).

The Evangelisches Studienwerk eV. Villigst offers scholarships for students affiliated with the Protestant Church.

The "Katholischer Akademischer Ausländer-Dienst" offers scholarships for Eastern European students; preference will be given to Catholic candidates.

Cusanuswerk offers scholarships to Catholic Master and PhD students from the EU (or for students who are eligible to receive assistance according to BAföG)
